Ripping 700MB DVD to 700MB CDR?
Ripping 700MB DVD to 700MB CDR? –
I'm new to DVD ripping/writing and I just had a question to ask for the expert rippers. How do you rip a 700MB DVD to a regular CDR. I've found that a few games(mainly the one I'm interested in ripping, Vampire Nights) only contain ~700MB of data on the DVD. I've tried doing a direct transfer of the data but that doesn't seem to work. I've read about the DVD/CD check vaguely. Anyone want to share some more info?
Are you sure that title is on DVD? Typically, anything 700 MB and under gets pressed on a CD. If possible, locate the original game jacket and check the back to determine exactly what format it's in - either Compact Disc or DVD. You may not have to rip anything...
Vampire Nights is on a DVD-Rom. From what I've read, there has to be a minimum of 1GB of "stuff" on a DVD-Rom(if I'm wrong, someone please correct me). All of my DVD-R software says that there is 1GB used on the DVD(medium properties) but Windows Explorer only reports ~709MB of actual data/files.
I didn't actually mean "ripping" but instead, "transferring" of 700MB of data from a DVD to a CDR. I am not entirely positive, but I think Simpsons Road Rage and Capcom vs SNK 2 are similar to Vampire Nights.
i think soldier of fortune is another 'small' dvd.
just to ad.
Probably search around for a ripkit of some sort. I mean, if the game will fit on a cd in it's entirity the people that released the kit would've known that and kept it intact. They just would've made the steps to make the cdr bootable.
News of a universal-type rip-kit was just announce in the News forum. You could try that...
Virtua Fighter 4 is also like that in the UK..
You dont need no limit to put it on a dvd-rom.
It can be 1 mb and be on dvd-rom.
But they can still put dvd checks on them, which is the problem in this case.
no Virtua Figher 4 is CDROM not DVD.
