Ridata DVD-R Disks?
We'll my b-day just passed and my bro got me some disks. Before purchasing them he asked me what type I wanted and from the advise this site gave me it looked as though Ritek are the best disks out there, epecially for ps2 backups.
So he came home and got me Ridata dvd-r disks and I asked him if they are the same and he said yes. The guy at the store told him these disks are the same and they do the job well at burning backups b/c he asked for titeks in the first place and got these.
So im just wondering if this is true? Are these disks the same as riteks?
Ritek is a brand for the dye itself, and many vendors resell those under their own names. Ridata is based on the Ritek dye, its quality is vary from batch to batch, usual quality is good. For me Fuji (also based on the old ritek g03 dye) was much better, the avarage error rate and PI/PO/jitter values were much better than on Ridata. Of course Ridata is still as I said a good choice for a cheap DVD-R, so you won't regret it.
thx a lot uns97. I didn't know they were cheap though b/c they were the most expensive disks at the store. So im assuming now that both disks are pretty much the same considering the dye is the same. Just wanted to make sure b/c the same place has riteks for the exact same price and I can easily get them exchanged.
