Todays drive cannot write slower than 4x. What type of writer is it ? PS2 reads CD's if they are good quality burns, which means GOOD media written by a quality writer at some slow speed AND your PS2 has a laser that works correctly.Any of these fails, the readib process will be slow, problematic or even does not work.

    regards, Stephen

It all depends on your burner. If your burner handles 4x, then burn at 4x, and don't go lower. The whole myth about slower=better is just that, a myth. If you burn at the speed at which your burner is tested with good media that can handle those speeds, you'll never have a problem. I've been chugging along at 2x cause my burner is older with Ritek media and I've *never* had a problem.
Pick good media, pick a good speed, you'll be fine.
