Rebuilding PS2 ISO. –
Well, I searhed the forum for help on rebuilding a PS2 ISO, but the link to the program what you guys reccomended was broken.
Anyhow, here's my problem, I translated a PS2 CD game a while back, I just imported the translated file back into the ISO using CDMage, and burned it, it worked. Now I'm working on possibly translating a DVD game, and keep in mind, I've never burned a DVD in my life, just got a burner this afternoon. So what I wanna do is take the patched file, and insert it into a DVD, or even, if needed, just rebuild the ISO from scratch so I can make a .ppf file.
To build a PS2 DVD iso you need to get Sony CD/DVD Generator and Apache2.
First open the Original game iso in Apache2 to see the original file position (LBA). Note them.
Then drag and drop the files from your altered ISO onto Sony CDDVD Gen.
Place them at the same LBA you saw in Apache2 with your original.
Export to .IML
Place the .IML file (a few Ko) in the game folder then build the ISO with IML2ISO.
ok thats illegal so how do we do it with ps2cdgen
you cant create a dvd image using cdgenps2. needs to be cdvdgen
After creating an image with CDGenPS2 it can still be installed as a DVD with WinHIIP. If you want to burn it I guess you can add it to your HD with WinHIIP and then extract it.
can i use the file order seen in ultra iso
... i cant seem to copy stuff from an image to a new image in ps2cdgen.. is there a ps2cdgen tut out ther
Do you have Isobuster? If so, you can just right click on the iso then go to Directory Tree and File Information > List Tree Info (in txt file) > LBA Relative Path and save to the folder with all the game files. Then, open up CDGenPS2 and under the Advanced tab select Import Tree File, from Isobuster. This will arrange all the files in the proper order.
how do you figure that? have you tried it or youre just speculating? i mean i have a dvd iso and i can check CD game when i install and it will still work so i dont think thats what matters...its probably just a marker to show if the iso you installed was a cd or a dvd image.

All my isos have been installed to my HD with WinHIIP though, so I don't know if the iso generated by CDGenPS2 will work when burned to a DVD. But, I'm still new to all that is PS2 modding... so you should probably wait for someone to give you a definitive answer before you start making DVD coasters :P
