    When we are making a back-up of a game is good to have the read speed to the max or a lower level ??? While making a ISO to the PC-HDD for later burn.

    put it up at max. reducing doesnt help.

    Yeah it really doesn't matter when making a ISO to the Hard drive. It matters when going to a disk.

    man, if thats the case, im so0o0o freggin lucky
    Im burning RIREKG05 @ 16x using a Pioneer DVR-108

    Yeah, I never understood that myth either - if the media ia tested at certain speed and your burner can handle it - go to town and enjoy the game quicker. The whole "slower = better" is a myth I just don't understand.

    the "burning at a slower speed is better" might be a myth from the days before buffer underrun protection

    The 'myth' used to apply, but, as ftothe3 mentioned, this was only valid during the days before buffer underrun, and burning was still in it's infancy.
