ps2dvd burning problem

Im having trouble burning games, it burns fine without errors but when i put in ps2 it just goes to browser but when i put in other backup games it loads up right away.
Is there some settings i have to adjust when burning?

-have tried burning nba/socom2 iso files on ritek and generic dvd-r's
-modchip magic3
-programs used to burn are nero and dvdencrrtpor
-speeds burned at are 2x and 4x the ps2 is a v5 and boots up other ps2dvd's fine

i would also like to knoww how to burn a backup but without a chip and use it on my ps2

i think you need a chip no matter what
