I have a maxtor hard drive 80GB and I have got it nearly full up with PS2 games. I have just purchased another maxtor 200GB hard drive so as to have more room for adding games but I wondered if you knew how I could transfer the games from the 80 GB drive to the new 200GB drive.

I was pointed to a website to download WinHIIP V1.7.6 in order to carry this out using my PC. I have tried downloading the software from the webpage but it does not open.... Does anyone know where I can get a copy of WinHIIP 1.7.6

My Computer is running Windows XP home and I have both CD and DVD writers, also I currently have 2 hard drives on my PC - both Seagate 200GB and 80GB I also have spare USB 2.0 ports that I can use....

I wondered what cables and/or additional equipment may be required to do the transfer also any additional software or changes that I need to make to my PC.

I would be eternally grateful if anyone could assist me with this (also my son would be so impressed if I could achieve this)

    all the very best

    tina.......

not sure but i think ps2 hdd is formated using fat32, in that case, if you connect your hdd to pc (either internal ide or externally), winxp will recognize it

    attached winhiip

Totally wrong... It is installed in the HDLoader file system. WinXP will not recognise it, but if it is connected to the computer than winhiip will recognise it...

And I've not tried this but Winhiip supossedly supports drive cloning... copying all games from one drive to another....

I would use some kind of fan to cool the whole get-up before attempting a 80GB transfer... it will get very hot... so you can use a 12 inch desk fan and blow this across the drives in question.. or use an 80mm and set it on top of the PS2 drives (current method I use).
