I was just wondering if the PS2 has the game selector like the XBox, so I can put like 2 or 3 games on one dvd-r.

would be a very nice tool to have.

psx_paul there have been a couple of threads about this. It's already been done, although not that good, it's been done. If u wanna give it a go, do a search, one of the threads had a download link.

Yep, just an alpha version, does NOT support DVD-R OR multiple CD images onto DVD-R. *HINT* *HINT*.

Come on coder guys, develop a game selector which allows people to put multiple CD-R games onto 1 DVD-R!! ... I'll send you 5 dollars

They would also have to develop a way to circumvent the media checks associated with any of the various CD titles you might want to put on a DVD-R.

Don't hold your breath waiting for something like this to happen...

Media checks have been beaten though since day 1 of the ps2 scene. It's just that nobody has had a real reason to mess with the CD media checks that go on for CD based games. I bet the code would even be extrordinarily similar to the DVD based media checks.

If someone builds a game selector that can be booted on DVD-R, the CD media checks will come (or go, I should say)

There's really only a handful of true CD based games , those would require new CD->DVD media check patches, but, I'd bet money on anyone who knew anything about media checks could figure them out easily. The code would probably look just like the DVD checks code.

The DVD RIPS on CD would simply just need someone to un-patch all the media checks that were put there to put it on CD in the first place.

It really wouldn't be too hard, and if I knew ANYTHING about media checks, I'd really try to put a CD or DVD-RIP onto DVD-R. Mainly because my ps2 only plays DVD's . But, it'd also help out anyone trying to create a good game selector.
