Ps2 DVD Ripping to CD-r's

basically use a disassembler program i.e. IDA Pro, with the PS2 Flirt Signatures, And Find The DVD Check, I Can't Really Explain How, There Are Multiple Checks.
Then Start Ripping The Files, like 0kb dummy pss or audio files and you sometimes need to extract files or split the game on multi discs.
Then you must figure the lba tables, set them, IML2ISO and burn.
go to http://www.alucard.cc and go through the tutorials, you'll see a Newbie Tutorial on Ripping, something similar which will explain all i've given you.

I dont think the problem is with its drivers - or else it would never read any DVD without them. But since you mention that it sometimes reads them , it leads to the conclusion that the drivers are ok. I think the problem is with the Lens... tried cleaning it?
BTW - what brand is it?

To clean up your lense , try getting a DVD Lens Cleaner (search Amazon) I know Maxell makes them.
Another alternative way of finding out your DVD Drive is - Go to your Control Panel - > Select System & Open the Device manager. Locate DVD/CD Drives... Your Drive's brand should be listed there.

You can buy DVD/CD lens cleaners at Best Buy, Radio Crap, Future Shop, Wal-Mart (in electronics department ofcourse). Any decent store...so dont try your local grocery store or corner store
