PS2 Burning Help - Newbie
PS2 Burning Help - Newbie –
I have a Version 7 PS2 installed with THE DEVICE M2PRO v1.21
and a SONY DRU500XA burner, what is the best media (brand and type DVD-R or DVD+R) and software to burn with, also has anyone used dvdxcopy to burn ps2 games? Also can dvd's be burned on the fly using a dvd-rom drive and dvd burner? Thanks for all your help!!
Arrrrrrrrrr, as far as the best media ta use, do a search in yon forums. This topic has been discussed and beaten ta death several times now.
What software ta use ta burn DVD. REad the sticky posts at the begining of this 'ere forum. There's guides there on what ta use and how ta do it.
Burning on the fly works, but it be recommended ta always first create an image of yer disc on yer hard drive, then burn that to CD/DVD. Ye'll get better results that way.
Dvdxcopy is for movies and won't copy anything else.
Copying on the fly can cause problems on prassi or nero (buffer underrun errors), but lately I've been using Alcohol 120 for "on the fly" and have done about 40 with no coasters at all at 2X.
Alcohol seems to differ from the other programs in that it varies the burn speed accoarding to the data read/ processing speed (while burnt at "2X" the final overall speed has been 1.7X, 1.8X 1.9X, 2.0X, and even 2.1X), the ability to burn slower has seemed to eliminate any underrun errors (at least this has been my experience on an a03 and a04 for on the fly)
Also both my readers and burners are on the same IDE channels on both of my pc's, even though it isn't recommended that the reader & burner be on the same channel they all come out perfect, even when copying from a dvdr copy...
