Ok well here is my experience so far with backed up PS2/PS1 games I would like to know what this could mean.. should I worry about something.. is it bad for my PS2 etc..

    ok..

First question about media.. I used some Maxell discs which arent that great like Grade 2 or 3. The games run perfectly smooth... should I still reburn to Tayio Yuden discs? oR is it fine if everything runs perfectly?

    Case 2

Well I backed up Sly 1 and during intro movie it studders for 2 seconds, then playes rest of the game smooth with no hick ups.. then after couple levels in a movie it does same again.. studders for a sec... Now.. is this bad for my laser? Whats laser doing is it just skipping parts it cant read? I realize that its probably because I used 3rd grade media.. thats not my question question is about the laser..is it bad.. or does it not matter?

    Case 3
PS1 games, I backed up FF Origins... i assume most here played FF games and know how they work.. so anytime there is a change of scene.. like for example if Im running around and then mobs appear it will delay for 1-2seconds while loading then go to the screen... then when I win the fight it takes another second to load .. pretty much everytime music or scene changes there is a delay... and these delays are all over... is that how its supposed to be? Or is that PS2 struggling to read the disk? All movies etc runs perfectly smooth in that game...

Also question... do PS2 and PSX games use different lasers? Like if I play PSX games and my laser goes bad from playing them will I still be able to run PS2 games and vise versa? or if 1 laser goes out its over?

Playing any burnt game on your PS2 is 'bad' for the laser compared to original pressed discs, but you can lessen the effect by using good Grade A media, and regularly cleaning the lens with a cotton bud & rubbing alcohol.

The PS2 has 2 reading lasers. One for CD, the other for DVD & switches between the 2 for different media or PS2/PSX games.
If one goes, you can still use the PS2 with the other, but it won't be far behind.
