yet another thread like this but what can you do...
i so far burned 2 coasters, MGS3 and Getaway Black Monday
    i burned The Punisher succesfully.
dont know why, could it be that MGS3 and Getaway are big files...around 4 gigs
    punisher is only 2 gigs.

i used RitekG04 at 2x on dvd decrypter

any utilities i can use to check the quality of the burned disks?

PI/PO errors are properly described in several CD/DVD writing forums, like cdfreaks, cdrinfo or cdrlabs. The more the PI/PO errors are the lower the disk quality is. High PI/PO spikes will result in low readablility and that will stress the laser more. Very high PI/PO rates will result in unreadable sectors and let us not forget these PI/PO spikes and areas get defected easier, sometimes these areas can be easily identified on the disk surface as fingertips, and/or scratches... Nec is unable to do a correct PI scan, you better get a LiteOn drive (DVD ROM is ok aswell, though the result is not perfect) or a a Plextor.

    There are the following tools:

Plextools, Plexscan (these are the best to give most correct values) Plextor only
KProbe works with LiteOn drives only
DVDInfoPro used to work with several ATAPI devices
    Nero CDVDSpeed... it's the worst.

    regards, Stephen
