game & game media = KindomHearts2 and Dragon Quest VIII to dvd-r
    speed burned = 2x
program used to burn = alcohol 120% , nero, recordnow, dvddecryptor all lasest versions
console version = 6 w/ duo2se a few yrs old with replaced laser drive

I havent copied a game in a long long long time, I'm starting to get back into it, I coped some old games to the same media and they play. However, these 2 games give me red screens on everything I try.

Is there a patch or something needed? is there a new way of backing up / burning ps2 games?

not really - havent done kingdom hearts 2 but DQ8 plays wthout a hitch.

I used DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 i believe to rip and burn the game in ISO mode as it is the easiest for me.......

Works on the HDD as well.

again for KH2, generally for old PS2 (mine is v5), its better to use DVD+R. Use DVD Decrypter and write in 2.4x

I have use different types of DVD-R and they all have VERY slow loading. Once I used the DVD+R it loads normally.
