  1. #1 Question Problem with image type
    KeeperV Guest
I have an image but it has no file extension. I have tried renaming it ISO, BIN, etc, but it isnt recognised, does anyone have any ideas of how I can determine what filetype it is or what it could be?

    Thanks

Will be hard to tell, without looking into the file. Alcohol may emulate everything IF you can set up the image settings which is (almost) impossible with an unknown file anyway.

    regards, Stephen

is it just one file or two? like allenylc said try .gi
if you have two files try .mdf for the big one and .mds for the small one. if only one try .mdf alone.

Thanks for your help everyone, finally worked it out, turns out it was an extensionless compressed compressed file, so managed to extract the bin/cue inside.

    Thanks again
