What image do you have ? An image grabbed from the original, or a downloaded one ? The Strike/PAL release works fine, but others are said to be crap.

Most D/L versions are nuked or they are the prologue or the other demo version which aren't D/L (not anywhere near as good as the full version of the game).

Use DVDDecrypter, patch the image, load the mds, insert a DL disk, set bitsettinto DVD-ROM and burn. Well, at a slower speed.

    regards, Stephen

pS: only the strike version works (PAL). the iso name would help to guess who released it, eh... by the way, how do you know it's pal, if you don't know the release name ??!!

Yup that will work, although I always delete the stupid MDS file and just burn the ISO.

I personally did not dare to waste a DL disk with simply writting the ISO. As I was not sure where Decrypter set the layer break to, so I set that manually (this step is unncessary if you choose the MDS as it stores this parameter, so one doesn't need to worry about that) Anyway, there are some critical points that one have to take care of to have a WORKING backup of GT4:

    - low quality media *Verbatim or Philips (both use MKM)/Ricoh still costs almost double than a Traxdata/Ritek/etc DL media*
    - unpatched image
    - unworking image (I mean images with layer0 only as the 1st ones were ripped that way, especially with some lame programs (Alcohol seems to be unable to handle DL media correctly for example, maybe their latest version is already able to but earlier ones were not)
    - low/middle class burner
    - old/worn ps2 laser

    regards, Stephen

pS: Just a quick note: game renting services in Europe do not work the same way as in the States... So in many countries that is not an option.
