primal WTF!?

I have just backed up primal PAL onto DVD-R, with my ps2 being an old version (v1or2 i think), and the backup on Laser(i think they're repacked princo) DVD-R. Anyway, the game loads, i select 60hz, i start a new game, and watch the first movie. After the monster knocks the chick out, it goes to the primal loading screen, with the disk thing spinning in the corner. I thought it hangs/crashes at this screen, but once i left it for about 30min and it went to the next movie, and then the game started!? I'm using a 'messiah1 clone', and booting by tapping reset twice. Is this a bad copy, bad media, or a prob with my ps2?

Try a higher quality media such as Ritek or Verbatim. You need good media to have any chance of playing dvd backups on a v1 or v2.

Or it could be his Laser has gone Bad!

The v1 and v2 lasers were bad to begin with. That is why high quality media must be used to have any possible chance of it working.

Doh! actually i have a v4

i've just been blissfully busy with an xbox and hdd (NO BURNING!) , and recently decided to clear the cobwebs off my ps2 and dvd burner. The game actually seems to be working fine, apart from the strange movie-loading thing, which i'd agree is a princo thing.
