Is it possible to boot PS1 backup off DVD media?

I was wondering if PS1 backups could be burned on DVD media to have several games on 1 disc, I know its possible to have several games on 1 CD but is there a way to do it on DVD?

no because when using ps1 mode the red laser is used (instead of the infrared one for ps2/dvd) which can only read up to 650 MB
therefor it won t work

The ps2 may even have a red laser which can read up to 700 MB but that is nosingnaitifacally anyway (I dont know how to write that word -_-)
