DVD's use UDF and is parrallel to Mode1 CD format--you can't change it to mode2. The important thing is having the PS2 switch over to DVD mode and getting the higher TOC loaded. That is always an issue with playing anything on DVD after booting from a CD. Once it has switched over, it will read the DVD fine. It is less of an issue with the media player, but more an issue with the PS2's BIOS and firmware.
