    Whats going on guys, sorry I havent posted in a while. I have a question for you guys> I am planning on buying a Dvd burner which on should I buy The new pioneer a05 or the new sony dru500a which does both +\-.... can you help me out ........ all the reviews I read that the new sony is great but i still havent seen nothin on the pioneer 05

    neither have i.. i've got access to an a05 tonight thing is though haven't got any 4x media.. so it kinda defeats the purpose.. ahh well.. we'll see if the oppotunity arises again.

    My vote's for pioneer. All the way BABAY!

    I didn't vote as it boils down to what your PS2 laser likes. DVD+R/DVD-R certainly covers both bases, but then again you have to ask yourself what you're going to use the thing for beyond PS2 backups. You might also want to check what your home DVD player supports (if you have one) before you plunk down the cash, eh?

    i have the sony dru500a, the only dvd-r ive burnt is on tdk media, but they play great in the ps2


    also the 24x cd burner is nice, because my old burner is only 8x w/no burnproof. great support under stomp recordnow max 4.5 and the latest versions of nero

    i've seen a review where they pit the pioneer a05 against the sony dru500a against another drive. I think they recommended the sony one in the end. I forgot where the review is, but i think its in that cdfreak site. Search around there.
