I have a v4 NTSC with the pnp-key(no solder mod). i'm looking to get a dvd burner to make backups. I was thinking about the PIONEER DVR-A05. Is this a good choice for my v4? Also, is the PIONEER DVR-105 just as good? I also want to use it for x-box backups, anyone have any viewpoints on this too. thanks alot.
also, to backup a dvd game, can you just copy to hardrive and then to dvd-r or do you have to patch?
A-05 is the OEM version of the 105. That basically means the A05 comes with nothing, just wrapped in an antistatic bag. The 105 is in the box with all the software and such. (the software sucks ass, so buy OEM if ya can, it should be cheaper)Quote:

is there a way to go from say, PAL to NTSC?
yup there are many patchers out there, just google it ;)
also i have this drive, i had an old DVD-RAM drive, and man im so0o0o much happier with this baby. Especially since Gradius and his buddies hacked up the firmware ;)
You are confused. It is the other way around. The A05 comes with cables and software. The 105 is the oem that only comes with the bare drive.Quote:
