how come my dvd drive im my pc reads princo but my ps2 does not??
As PC DVD ROM's were designed to do that. PS2 was designed to read ORIGINAL PRESSED PS2 disks. The quality of Princo DVD-R's are so low that PS2 cannot read the correctly, or cannot read them at all. Test your Princos with any tool of these - Plextools/KProbe/NeroCD/DVDSpeed/DVDInfoPro and you'll see that error rates on those disks are a way too high compared to pressed disks. You must learn that optical storage is a very difficult area and things often do not work as they should/and it's not that easy to describe/understand some things without a proper knowledge. If you wanna learn this, go and check the DVD-Forum/DVD-Alliance websites plus some of the best CD/DVD sites like CDRinfo.com/cdrlabs.com/cdfreaks.com. It's a hard and long way to understand how ODD's work and it cannot be told that technically in a few lines.

It also seems to depend on what kind of DVD burner you use. I used Princo with my old DVD burner and they worked fine in the PS2. When I burn princo on my new burner it won't run on the PS2 but works fine on my PC.
Keep trying different media until you find a reliable and cheap one and then stick with it.
I use pioneer 107/108 to burn for PS2 with no probs with princo, only other thing i would add is not to burn higher than 4X,if your burning at 4X try burning at a lower speed with the princo...
Of course there are some factors that affects media readability, as the media itself, the reader and the writer, plus the enviromental parameters. As one of these changes the final result may vary aswell. That is why you MAY get better results using Princo's in one writer while get worse when using the same media in another writer. The problem is that most writers write these low quality disks with many correctable/uncorrectable errors. It's much easier to choose another brand like Ritek G04 for example that costs the same as Princo but has about 10 times better quality.

As said, how long will the data be on your disks ??? Give me an answer after one year, and then you'll understand what we are talking about. (also, do not cry if your PS2 won't read dvd-r's anymore - laser problems -, but think a while and thank that to your "excellent" Princo's)
i burnt quite a few games onto princo media at 2x and they worked alot better than ritek at 4x. i now use TY discs (highest quality) at 2x and the ps2 loves them.
its worth spending that little bit extra on quality.
princo media is not the greatest and ps2 can be picky on what media it will read at times. might try different media ritek, prodisc, or taiyo yuden you can order them from here www.supermediastore.com
