For the most part, it looks ok. A little "iffy" past the 3GB mark. You really should run the "Scandisc" option instead. The Disc Quality test gives a lot of "overkill" information. You really just need to verify that the files/sectors are readable. The newer version will vary the color of the sector map in the surface scan to indicate how badly damaged each sector is--green is good, lighter yellow shows some damage but readable, more orange is close to unreadable, while red is completely unreadable. That is really all you need to verify and it is pretty cut and dry--if your PC drive has trouble reading a sector, expect the PS2 to have more trouble with it.

If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.

Not exactly a good way to check the disks. Knowing that the DVD-R writer has a MUCH better laser than an avarage reader and well MUCH better than the so loved Sony PS2 lasers, it will read (easily) the lightly damaged blocks using the writer's internal ECC/CRC algorythm and the software itself also will REREAD the lightly defected area and will tell you OK, eventhough the disk became unreadable in days. Data verification that DVDDecrypter does is not the same as correct SURFACE verification using PI/PO test. (first method checks for the data to be the same on the source and destination drive (DVDDEcrypter checks whether your image is the same as the data that was written to the disk...) while the second method checks that HOW reliable the burn area is... and DVDDecrypter won't check that) Nero's test sucks I have to agree, that is far from perfect, unfortunatelly not that many guys have a Liteon/Plextor for a perfect (almost perfect to be precise) PI/PO/PIFF/POFF/TA/beta and Jitter scan using KProbe and/or Plextool or Plexscan. If one has time can test DVDInfoPro's internal PI scanner, it is worth a try.

    regards, Stephen
