after burning many ps2 games and many coasters, ive finally found the media that works best for me. the media that works best for me is maxell dvd-r burned at 4x, at 2x in nero disc quality check i get a score of [out of 100] 74, then at 4x i get a score of 93. i have burned multiple copies of a few games to test my results. speed is not as much as an issue as is media quality, however it seems that quality seems directly related to the media and the speed its certified for. when i burn media at the speed its certified for then the disc quality is improved.
anyways after finding that all out...i have about 10 backups on some cheap dvd+r media [memorex 8x PRODISC] quality is from 45-65 and i was wondering...should i reburn all of those games onto these maxell discs or should i just leave them as is? can i just copy one of these backups on the memorex discs to the maxell's that i just have been playing with or do i need to rerip/rebuild the image files for these games that need to be reburned? i know the quality sucks but i assume that when its read the dvdrw will correct the bad areas and then i will be able to reburn. dont wanna have to go through the trouble again of the originals...but if i have to i have to. BTW i have verified that all of the memorex backups work fine.
