OK I'm more confused than I ever was, could somebody help me?

I'm wantin to modify my Punisher game with Dark Killer's patch but I'm not exactly sure how to do it. I'm a complete newbie to this.
What's an ELF, and system.cnf, and all this other stuff that I apparently need? I'm totally lost. :(

This has been discussed in two different sections (now it's the third). There is a ppf file aswell. Download ppf-o-matic, and patch the iso using the ppf file and there you go.

Ok This is just one of the things i tried but here goes.

I copied the disc on to an nrg file (made a complete copy) with nero patched it with the ppf, copied it do a dvd+r and got that dang "Please insert a playstation or playstation 2 format disc" for about the fifth time.

What am I doing wrong??

You cannot patch a Nero nrg file... Nrg file has another structure than ISO. Use DVDDecrypter to grab the image, patch that.

OK Just used the DVD Decrypter to burn a copy of the disc to an ISO, patched it with the ppf, and burned it back to a DVD+R with the DVD Decryter and still got the "Inser PS1 or PS2 format disc" message.

Could somebody PLEASE explain to me from start to finish how to do this?

do you have a modchip or a swap method? if not u cant play a burned game. if your trying to load it by swapmagic and its still not working then maby your TOC disk isnt big enough or you burned it wrong, also i hear some ps2's cant read DVD+r you might want to try burning to DVD-r at a slow speed

No I dont have a modchip. And as 4 a swap method, I dont know what you mean there.

Phew, we all assumed you had a modchip. No way to play your backups without a chip/or the swap method.
