obtaining PrimoDVD –
I lost the PrimoDVD cd that came with my A04 dvd-r drive, and of course I had to format my harddrive, thus erasing the install. I am utterly desperate for this program. I would even go out and buy the bloody thing again, if it weren't a bundle-only (through OEMs) deal. I can't even find it on some obscure ftp site!
If anyone has the cd on hand and a fast internet connection, please reply or drop me a private message. I really need the cd, or an image of it (iso, bin, whatever).
I thought asking for copyrighted material wasn't allowed ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????
I paid for the bloody program. I can't get it any other way unless I buy another dvd-r drive, which is entirely rediculous. It's perfectly legal. Buzz off.
Woohoo! I found my cd. There, now you don't have to grapple with the difficult moral issues of corporate tyranny. I'm sure you're delighted. I am.
Sorry, dont care if u bought it or not just saying these forums are not used for asking to obtain copyrighted software, sorry if i made u mad but its the truth ain it??????
If i bought GTA3 and lost I would not ask for an ISO here, right?
Go easy on the question marks, man. It's not like you're deeply offended, yeah?
The difference between your supposition and my situation was that I could not do anything besides the absolutely insane: blow $400 on a second DVDR drive which would be useless to me. You *cannot* go to a software store and purchase PrimoDVD. You *can* easily purchase GTA3 at any PS2 game vendor. In fact, if some store does sell you PrimoDVD seperately, it is just as bad as getting a pirated copy; both ways, it breaks the license.
The important lesson here is to use one's mind and pay attention to the details. It is a gray area most establishments stay carefully out of, but this is very clearly an unusual situation which would require a slight bending of rules. I respect their authority, as this is their forum, and if they felt they would not welcome this request, they could post as such. But that does not mean anyone who comes along making generalizations will get the same respect. In fact I'm more inclined to treat someone who does that as a child who has an affinity for tattle-tailing, as opposed to an adult who might show empathy.
Granted, I would not expect them to give any leeway when confronted, and is possible they'd not appreciate it in any circumstances. Either way, though, I found my lousy 8cm piece of circular plastic with the humongoid 2.8MB program on it, so all is not lost and none of this really matters.
8cm = 12cm. Although those 8cm cdrs are really cool lookin'. Must've been a Freudian slip or something.
ok ok, everyone take a deep breath and lighten up, eh? FWIW now, if Guchi had seen your post, it would have been nuked immediately and if the conversation hadn't ensued to this point between you and screwedMN before I saw it, I would have nuked it.
Regardless of your situation, we're trying to keep from running afoul of having someone confront us because folks (like yourself) are openly asking for copyrighted materials. The same standards apply in our Buy/Sell/Trade forum where you can review the Sticky posted at the top.
The DMCA is real and we're not trying to be jerks, but otherwise all this disappears and you folks are stuck with ps2ownz or some other forum venue and all our hard work goes down the drain.
So, glad you found your disc, but next time, ask for it in a PS2 newsgroup where no one gives a shit about what gets requested or posted.
