Thats an interesting question, I would guess ntsc since your ps2 is ntsc. I don't know for sure though.

It would look to take you to the PAL server, but first it would verify that your PS2 and network adapter are PAL. I have a PAL game, RISK, that I play on my NTSC system with a NTSC network adapter. I cannot play it online though, as I have the wrong version for my system. If your conversion worked, it would still be looking for the same format it was originally intended to work on, and in your case it is looking for a PAL system.
    God made me do it

True, but if he had an ntsc system and pal game than he would not be able to play online at all... right?

You can play games online from another region. You just need to change the internal Console ID of your PS2 with Paradox's Machine ID Changer, although it only works for v1 - v9 PS2's.
Patching a PAL game to NTSC only changes the X & Y co-ordinates of the screen position, so that the picture doesn't flicker or roll. Its still essentially a PAL game, and you'd need to patch the DNA$ ID of the disc with the PAL ID, and connect to PAL servers.
