i saw a flip top case for the ps2 that lets you swap discs and it says you don't need a modchip. is this true? and can you do the same swap method using a gameshark 2 V3 with no modchip?
e-mail me if you can help
thanks!

Yes, a flip top and swap magics will let you play some backups, but not all. And no, you can not use your gameshark for this method.
why wouldn't my gameshark 2 V3 work? it does the exact same thing as a boot magic disc. you just pop in the gameshark start with no codes and when it tells you to insert a game you put in your back up.
The new gamesharks can not be used as boot discs.
dont get the flip top.. you have to install a no solder chip that pumps up the voltage for your laser. Also many games dont work with them with out patching and manny groops are just giving up on no solder mod patches. If you Relly dont want a Chip in your sys i wuld sugjest the slide card .. Its 20-30$ and dusing require you to disable your sys but still has the same problems of the flip top and no solder mod in requiring patching in some games ...
