well, I'm one of those "leaches"... mostly for the reason that I just never got around to learn how to post all those damn rar's and pars up on usenet. But i guess its time for me to pay my dues...

any particular dvd games you were looking for??

I think I'll post MC 2, burnout2, or jedi starfighter once I get my dvd drive working. All the sudden my comp isnt showing my dvd or cdrw drive and wont let me install or update drivers, wierd.

I have over 50 that are rips, but I'm getting away from rips now that I have a a05

for creating parity files (PARS) use smartpar and for posting multiple threads, use a program like Yenc-Post 2002 or PowerPost. But be forewarned, if you don't have good DSL upload speeds, its painfully slow to upload a DVD iso file (even compressed!).

I'm giving it a shot now, but my adsl upload speeds are so pathetic its gonna take me nearly a week to get a compressed dvd image up (can't tie up my connection 24/7)...

quick question on posting to dvdiso.

what is the preferred format (GI or ISO). Also I noticed that GI files created by recordnow max don't compress well. Is it better to create an ISO file and compress (RAR) that instead? It would make it a lot easier to post if I only had to upload 2gb instead of 3gb for a 4gb game!

i love isos more than gi's. but i can burn both. i think the "preferred" one is GIs. but iso works for a few more programs. its really up to your personal preferences.

and, speaking of leechers, i am one too, i love to post but i always fear that i might get prosecuted (im a chicken leech), and besides my upload speed is slow compared to download (up 400K down 1500M). but i believe psxnomod is right if everybody contributed then the NGs would be much better, and hell it will kick IRC's ass.

I use my isp news server and I made one measly post of an mp3 a while back and I was sent an email by the isp warning that I could be prosecuted for copyright infringement.. Needless to say, that was the last time I posted anything.

Man that sucks. What ISP do you use? I guess its a good idea to use abreviated file names like group releases do when posting
