So I used mcboot on my ps2 the other day when i was bored. I actually have 2 ps2's both version 4's
But to my surprise the lasers are actually quite good after alot of tweaking with alignment.
Anyways I took my Onimisha Blade Warriors game and I made a backup, its pretty large like 4.4 GB. But the game itself is just 600 MB. Anyways I first burned it patched with ESR and just got a black screen. Then I did some tutorials on some other sites using all these misc half working ps2 tools no offense to the devs of them but sometimes they are kinda hit and miss.
Anyways I would like to know if this game is compatible with ESR? Or am I doing something wrong?
Also does the minimum size of a ps2 dvd game have to be 1.4 GB, I have read something on this but couldn't find anything too clear on it.
Also I tried the game in pcsx2 and it worked, only 40 fps of course cause of crap computer but nonetheless my backup is good.
Also I am using "so-so" media dvd+r memorex it worked for all the other games though but none have been this large. I think crap media has issues when you start filling up the disc alot. Its funny I had some dvd-r and dvd+r from memorex laying around and the dvd+r works and the dvd-r will not work for anything. The dvd+r is much thicker closer to a ps2 game, I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
I will put a hard drive in there I have laying around later, this is just more or less proof of concept for me etc (fun).
So thats one issue.
Another is my Street Fighter EX3 cd game I want to make to DVD. I saw some people on this forum are having issues with it as well. Has anyone got this conversion done correctly yet? I have not tried it yet myself.
I still think the HD is the best way to go all around but I would just like to get a few dvd rebuilds and stuff done etc.
Any help here would be great.
I know a bit late into the ps2 scene, but I am a c++ programmer I stay busy
