I havnt seen this posted here yet, please remove if ive missed it.

Console Media Patcher v1.1, now includes Xbox patching and limited DVD9 checks.

    http://www.backuptools.co.uk/

    From the website
"This latest version of CMP (Console Media Patcher) has limited PS2 DVD9 support. It patches some dvd9 checks (no..not GT4). The patch works on Kessen III, MGS2 and GuyGame....maybe some others. This patch is experimental so don't expect it to work on all DVD9 games. Please post positive/negative results in the forum."

Great work again Sonix, thanks from all of us

    Regards

any chance of this patcher working for God of War, seemingly, I cannot load the retail copy of it on my ps2. Would creating a backup of it and patching it work? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not with this tool mate but i dont understand why the original wouldnt play. No retail release here yet but there is a net release from Confusion that apparently works ok. Leave the Genius release alone

The confusion release freezes later in the game, and Sonix released a new patcher now specifically for God of War that fixes everything.

It does freeze?? Damn, thanks for the info, I was *just* about to burn the Confusion rip, guess I'll have to patch that iso first.

Ok I just spent at least an hour following the directions to a tee for making a god of war backup. The tool crashed in the middle of rebuilding, but I re-ran it and all was ok...right up until the build_iso stage in apache. A second after I click build iso, it says Couldn't find 'GODOFWAR\SYSTEM.CNF'!Aborting..But I can see that particular file is right there!

This problem is addressed in Sonix's forums. Edit the .IML file to show the correct file path or put your files in the correct place.
