Thank you for all of the Nero advice, but:
I've made fine backups with DVD Decryp, RecordNow
What about those errors? Would the installation of Nero #$!^ up DVD Decryp and RecordNow?

what version of nero are you running?
This is why I said you should check it in another computer that has no Nero installed.I have seen several cases when Nero ****ed up working CD/DVD writer systems.

mann75 : Nero Ultra 6.3.1.15 upgraded to 6.3.1.17
uns97 : The upgrade fixed Nero's problem and I don't seem to have the problems with DVD Decryp now neither.
I'm gonnna assume RecordNow works again too. Sad that Nero would screw up the whole system. Thanks again for all the advice.
Nice to hear your problem is solved. Yes, unfortunatelly Nero's API plus its own ASPI layer are far from perfect. Unfortunatelly as it is one of the most often used writting application one realises its problem sooner or later.Originally Posted by syruel

syruel : they now have nero 6.6 out now you might would like that or stick with what you got. check out www.afterdawn.com and go to their software section.
My bad, I meant to type that I upgraded to 6.6.0.5.
mann75: Thank you though.
do you have the full version of the new nero 6.6?
No, I just got the update patches that would fix Nero Burning Rom--the first 2 patches only I believe. I didn't want to risk messing up my system more with the other updates being that I don't use the other programs that they were for.
Wise decision... Nero's size has become about 10 times bigger during a few years, but it's stability is far from perfect. Also it has a tons of useless stuff, which can MUCH easily be done using several third party programs... Their latest one is the DVD movie protection, which is for fools, but let them show their real knowledge to the movie industry... We still perfer DVDDecrypter and Clonedvd, no matter what guys at Ahead try.Originally Posted by syruel
