Need some basic starting points (Codebreaker Problems)
Need some basic starting points (Codebreaker Problems) –

To start, I tried my codebreaker v9.2 with a backed-up game, and it didn't work. It said re-try and stuff
So I googled around and found this site and ran into some interesting solutions.
However, I don't know where to start now. I read about swapping discs.. elf files.. pc to ps2.. data on memory cards.. etc.
I just want to know how to get the codes to work with my back-ups.
Can you guys help make a quick list of what I need to find and maybe an order to do it in?
Just some basic programs. Hopefully, I'll be able to find it on my own.
BTW... I have a modded PS2, but I'm not sure about the chip. Unless it's the thing that shows up before the "cracked" codebreaker v9.2 starts up.
Again, any help is appreciated.

You need:
1.Modchip with without sleep mode(if you're going to run CB from the disk) or modchip with dev. modes or to install FMCB and load CB from your memory card or USB flash drive
2.The Code Breaker must be the cracked version or patched for HDD and use place the CB_launch.elf inside a folder in your memory card called BOOT
That's all.
Before I use the cracked code breaker like this:
Since I have modchip with dev modes(this allows me to run app from my memory card)start CB with the dev mode button(for me it's triangle or R1)or load first Ule and then code breaker. After I load it the Auto Eject options is on(it doesn't mater anyway)select my cheats and start the game.
After I start using FMCB I start using another method:
Install FMCB and add the cracked codebreaker to the OSD menu. This is A LOT easier and simpler.
Now that I have HDD already I use this method:
I patched my original Code Breaker which after the patch is searching for a file named CB_launch.elf inside you BOOT folder in your memory card(you have to create that folder) or inside the root directory in you flash drive(or in the __BOOT folder in the hdd).Since I want to use CB both on disk games and on HDD games my CB_launch.elf is the file jimmikaelkael give us which after launch returns you back to the OSD and from there I can choose what I want to start...HDLOADER(to play game from my HDD with cheats)or just insert a a game disk and play it with cheats.
After patching the Code Breaker it make him something like the cracked Code Breaker

First off, thanks for the advice Vsub.
It seems that FMCB would be the easiest method of solving my problem. However, although I can find the cracked codebreaker, I'm not quite sure as to install it as an app into my OSDSYS. Was I supposed to put it in the install folder when I installed FMCB onto my mem card?
*Extra question*
I was thinking about using an HDD, but I read it was pointless trying on slim PS2s. However, I think I also read about the model being SCPH-75000 or above. I have some wierd version that's only SCPH-70012. Can i get a HDD to work?

Once you have FMCB installed properly, using the 'noobie' package, it is easy to add new applications at will. You just use the FileBrowser of uLaunchELF (aka: uLE) to copy files onto your memory card, and run the FMCB configurator to add those files to the FMCB launch menu, unless you prefer to have them in the uLE menu. Either way works fine. You can even keep program elfs on a USB stick and still start them from either FMCB or uLE, since they both support USB access.

The SCPH-700xx Models (aka: v12/v13) are in fact the ONLY slim PS2 models that can have an IDE interface. It is the later models SCPH-75000 or higher (aka: v14 or higher) that are unable to use IDE interfaces.
But adding an IDE interface to the v12/v13 PStwo consoles is not easy, as it requires extensive modification, and a new case if you want it to keep a 'professional' appearance. There are kits to be bought for making this modification, though I'm not sure exactly where to find them. (googling a bit will probably help)
Best regards: dlanor

Thanks for helping me out dlanor. I'll be sure to try out my USB. However.. turns out I only found the un-patched version of the codebreaker lol... So I'm off to learn how to patch things!
