ok when i had the R-mod in my v5 ps2 everthing worked 100% dvd-r,dvd's,cdr,cd's you name it it worked 110%..

i got tired of swaping so i got Csnow to install a Apple mod in the ps2 for me.

after i got the ps2 back 3 things were diff in a bad way

    1. 1/2 my cdr games wouldnt load,i fixed that by reburning them on diff media

2.ALOT of "REAL"dvd movies will not load, only the big names like MATRIX,Tomb radier, star wars stuff like that will load but moives like doc hollywood wont load.i looked at the size of the movies that will load vs the movies that wont and if the size is over 4.7gig 90% the moviewill load if its under 10% it will load

    3.DVD-R game movies(like intros)will skip or lock up namely THPS4,Nba street vol2 nba live2003
ok i said maybe its that my laser is old well i replaced that and it helped just alittle bit

so i said maybe its the media so i tryed it on another ps2 that had a solderless mod in it and all the games movies that skip in my ps2 dont skip in the v4..

so the games didnt skip b4 the MOD install, dont skip on another ps2,and my ps2 has a new laser in it so what is it thats making this happen???overall everthing is working great but i just hate not being able to watch the game movies without all the skiping and locking up and the dvd movie thing really bugs me..well help me in any way that you can,,THANKS

What brand media are you using for your backups? Are you booting dvd movies correctly by holding reset until the blue light comes on?

Sounds to me Like someone took your brand new laser and swapped it for an old one. Happens all the time when you send your ps2 to someone you dont know in the mail or elswhere. Ive seen this happen many times before!

Also Version 5 ps2s has lots of problem!
