I'm trying to make a copy of my original but for some unknown reason it freezes near the beginning of the game, either when you pick up the first item near the first save point or (if you skip the item) just after the scene where you get attacked by the first ghost.

I've tride burning on both Taiyo Yuden and Sony brand DVD-Rs because I've heard they where top notch for this type of thing.
    I've tried burning at 4x 8x 10x.
I've tried both ImgBurn and Alcohol 120%.
    My console version is SCPH-70011.
I've tried booting it with ESR, Swap Magic 3.6, 3.8 and cogswap. (I don't have a chip)

I've read other places that people are having problems with this game as well but there was never a solution posted, so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm trying to back up this game because it was extremely hard to find and I don't want to chance damaging it.

*Edit: I tried it again with SM and for some weird reason it's working fine.
Maybe I just got a couple of bad disks?
So to reiterate: The game works fine on Sony disks at 10x using Swap Magic (less a couple of studders durnig CG scenes).

I'm not totally sure about this, but I believe that if you use DVDDecrypter and/or possibly IMGBurn, you should be able to back your game with little to no problems.

One thing you can do is use a program like MD5summer to generate an MD5 of the game ISO and get someone else to run the MD5 on their ISO of the same game to see if there are any differences.

All parts of Fatal Frame are problematic games, it works in HDL with DMA mode, date/time fix 2.
