First of all theres a long story of wasting 3 DL dvds at 10 bucks a 3-pack with this usb burner I got, But I it out of its shell and conected to ide and it works great now.
Anyway, after buying another pack... I used the latest CloneCD, because I saw a post here where a guy said it worked for him, normally I use Alcohol 120%. The game loads but when I load my save it freezes right after it says load complete. If I try a new game the cinematic skips, and so does the game. I am using HP DVD+R DL disks and its an LG Burner, my ps2's a v9 with a CC 2.0 Firmware 34. So yeah... HP disks not good? Or just cant copy GOWII? If anyone has got a backup to work please let me in on what you did, thanks.

I used IMGBurn for the entire ripping and burning process and have had good luck with it. Honestly I've never had any luck with clonecd and had so-so luck with alcohol120%.

What kind of dvds have you successfully got a backup to work on?

I always do my DL backups with DVD Decrypter and Verbatim DVD+DL and they always work and burned as slow as possible.

This is good...
did you ever have to change any of the following:
- Book type (DVD-ROM)
- Layer break (Tools > Settings > Write > Layer Break)
(*edit* I'm burning one now and ImgBurn says this in its log: "Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: Copied From Original Disc" and it got the layer break position correct. So that answers one question)
...or did you just read, and then write back?
DL discs are *very* expensive here, a five pack is the cost of one of my Platinum games.
