Yeah, I know this is my second post. However, I have been following nomod/mod cd/dvd discussion and have learned a great deal.

I have a nosoldermod on a v7 using swap magic 2.0. Yeah, I know, "get a real mod". I cant afford it, theres no one around me that installs them, and I know from person experience that I do not have what it takes to install one.

    Anyway, back to the subject.

The TOC of NHL 2004 is 4.36gb. .01gb too big to boot with swap magic. There is a large dummy file on the dvd, however.

I was wondering if it was possible to remove/resize the dummy file to get it down enough to boot. I have tried replacing it with a cut down dummy file and using cdgenps2 or cd/dvd generator to create a new image..but that just results in bad burns.

Any ideas? I searched and didnt find anything on the subject.

edit: btw, thanks for any help. this place has been super helpful in the past and I hope the trend continues for years to come.

For what it's worth, you may just be better off with a CDR Rip of this. I have personally had no problems with any of the latest EA Sports releases, and I have played NHL and Tiger Woods quite a bit, but it seems like I'm in a minority.

I have seen the ripped version of this run, and it's not as bad as you might expect. Very little is missing, and it's not a class-A Laser Killer.

I know it's always nice to have a Full DVD Backup, but this may just save you a little time and expense.
Why the **** would I want a Caravan that's got no ****in' Wheels ?

    I successfully modified it:

    1. extracted the image with isobuster
    2. replaced the file with a 20 byte dummy
    3. burned in discjuggler as a normal data cd (postgap off, closed dvd).

    works great.

hey dmaul is the 1.36GB file the dummy file you were talking about? Im gonna have to do this toc resizing tormoow, i want to play this damn game! it keeps freezing after loading up the teams right before you play damn EA, they stick a 1.36gig dummy file just enough over the magic swap toc, this must have been planned

anyway tell u how it goes

dude there is no possible way that the method you explained will work, thanks for wasting one of my blank dvdr's

dvds you cannot burn in normal data cd mode you have to generate the dvd from scratch with Sony CD/DVD Generator if you modify the image like you did

Anyway I know the correct way on how to do it now and it involves some pretty complicated steps, I will explain them here if anyone needs it
