Can anyone tell me how to get this game to work on a backup. I have a lot of success with most ps2 games, but this one acts like it is going to work and then goes to a screen that says to put in a playstation format disc. I'm using a no-solder mod and swap- magic discs. Is this game hack-resistant?

I am guessing you have a v7 right? I believe it is one of those v7 protected games like Splinter Cell.

Do you mean that it may possibly work on a version 9, or even an older version ps2? Would a different modchip take care of this, and if so, which one would you recommend?

It won't work on v7 and higher systems. A new mod such as a Duo, M2, DMS3, or Apple Pro will get around the problem.

Messiah gets around the protection. Crappy no solders, fliptops, and magic 3.1 won't.

It boots just fine on a v5 no solder with SM v2.0, so it must be the post v5 protections. You could try using the SwapMagic patch CD. It's a pain because it is like a triple swap method--boot from SM CD, use chip to swap-in this CD, normal swap and load the TOC disc, then use the chip to swap in the backup. It was coded for getting around the EA protections, when it prompts for the EA method, that means to use the chip to bypass the eject subroutine.

If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.

So do you think i will have trouble with nascar 2004? I bought my dad a new ps2 (probably v9) and he only likes the EA games. What is a good chip for v9?
