Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance

I just dl MGS2S and backed it up on a DVD-R. The opening sequence loads beautifully. I then proceed to select my game preferences (mission type, game difficulty, ect.). Once I accomplish that, a screen of text reads that the characters of the story are fictional and any coincidental names of real people are just that, a coincidence. NOW:The screen goes black........and black......and STAYS BLACK. The game goes no further. Im using a Messiah 2 Pro on a v7 if that is helpful to my solution.

Wow. You're faster than me. I wanted to post that too. When I select the missions, they work. Skateboard mode does not work. And the main game (when selecting NEW GAME), works to the point as you say. The text says characters of the story are fictional bla bla bla... and then stays black.
I have burnt it with several methods now, and I really think that the iso is somehow corrupt. Right now I'm d/l another version of MGS2.
No help here. sorry.

i thought the dvdr of it ,they ripped the regular game and left the added stuff you dont get with MGS2 regular version

I have the rip on 2 dvd-r's

On the 1st dvd there is the Original Game + Skateboarding.

On the 2nd dvd there is the Extra Missions.

Although when i started a new game (on the 1st dvd) it dont seem to work properly - the game plays but when you press select (to go to nanocommunication (or whatever you call it lol)) the ppl dont talk to you like the original and you have to press triangle to view the conversation!

The 2nd dvdr works fine though and the extra missions are mint!

Anyone else have the same probs with the 1st dvd?

rips don't work on dvd's.

If the original game was a dvd like Xenosaga, yes they work on dvd-r.
