Media testing of DVDR from cdrdvdrmedia.com
Media testing of DVDR from cdrdvdrmedia.com –

I have a M2 V7 modded PS2.
The mod was done by freedomlives.com
I purchased a combo bundle from cdrdvdrmedia.com and the following results are posted:
Burning application: Prassi PrimoDVD 2.0
Burning hardware: Cendyne : A104
ACU DVDR 4.7: Works
LAC DVDR 4.7: Works
OPT DVDR 4.7: Does not work
DPO DVDSILVER 4.7: Works
ML DVDR 4.7 (White Top): Pending
ML DVDR 4.7 (Silver Top): Pending
This is to help you in purchasing DVDR media.
This site sells bundles of DVDR at a low cost per unit price.
The best looking DVDR surface (deepest purple) is the ML DVDR 4.7 (Silver Top).
More to come.

Does the ML mean Meritline media?

That is correct.
ML = Meritline

A few questions:
Are those 3 letter symbols derived from ADVDinfo? (Nifty little app akin to CDRIdentifier.)
Were your test burns done at 2x or 1x?
If done at 1x, have you tried the same at 2x (which would give us a better indication of whether that media was 2x certified.)
Does writing on those ML Silver Tops with a Sharpie (fine-tipped permenent marker) screw things up during playback?
We appreciate your research and efforts...

The three letters are the identifiers that the distrubutor placed on the DVD cover.
ML = MeritLine
ACU = Accu
OPT = Opti
They go with the name of the DVD brand that are sold on cdrdvdrmedia.com
All burns are done @ 2X speed
All burns are with data that takes up about ~ 4GB
All burns were verified at the end
The ML DVD Silver Top does not show any problems with the usage of a Sharpie. I actually wrote the name of the Backup on the top of all of the DVDRs and none show any alterations.
The ones with the white tops allow for a better surface for writing (with a sharpie).
Photos of the DVDRs are coming soon.

Thanks for the clarifications, Kemikals.

DVD-R tops:
First Row, Left to Right:
ML DVDR Silver Top, DPO DVDSilver, LAC DVDR
Second Row, Left to Right:
OPT DVDR, ACU DVDR, ML-DWDR White Top
(I know I can omit the "DVDR" labeling but I'm just listing them as I see them)
