Well, I wanted to backup my (original) Champions of Norrath PAL DVD (it is a Dual layer disc) and I used a Traxdata (ritek made) DVD+DL ... the copy process went fine using DVDdecrypter and my NEC 2510A burner, but the backup is not working on my PAL v9 PS2 + Mars Pro chip... have I done anything wrong, or backup DL discs just don't work?

so are you saying you have successfully made a WORKING backup of GT4? You've burned it, and it plays in your v9 PS2? Which burner are you using and what media?

PS2's can read DVD+R DL backups, you just need a good quality laser in your PS2 and a mod that supports booting backup DVD9's.

However, there is currently no known method of making a copy of GT4 form an original disc that actually works when burnt onto a DVD+R DL disc so don't bother just yet.

people i know have burned gt4 successfully. the chinese xwar release works AFTER you add the new PAR2 files that fix all the problems with the old disk. just add the par2s to the folder with all the original rars and open er up, and it should work. i'll let you know if it works for me in like 35 hours

    What are you talking about

PAR2's have nothing to do with the game not working.

Everyone that has been trying to get GT4 to work hasn't been doing it with a bad/damaged rar set.
