    1. loads, blank screen
    2. Loads, shows intro, freezes
    3. black screen, back to mem manager

loads my psx backups and any homebrew apps fine right off of disc.

    PS2 Version 9
Matrix Infinity with the latest firmware
using Memorex DVD-Rs burning at like 10X my dvd burner can do 16x but I know it's not going that fast I havent been watching at what speed to be honest.
using DVD Decrypter to rip / burn also tried ripping with DVD Decrypter and burning with A120% and same thing happens.

I've copied Amplitude with no issue, but when I try Socom 3 it boots the logo and starts to load then freezes, Getaway black monday I the matrix ps2 logo boot screen then a black screen freezes, We Love Katamri, black screen OR invalid PS2 disc.

I've burned HD-Advance to a plain disc (Verbatium cd-r) and the latest firmware on aonther both booted flawlessly same goes with a psx game I tried.

Thanks for any and all help sorry for not providing all the info I should of in my first post.

is it just bad for PS2 use? I've never had any issues with the media before.

I have a sony 16x dual layer dvd burner (sorry not @ home right now)

Thanks. I'll pick up some verbatim tonight.

crap media can wear you laser on your ps2 faster and seeing how your ps2 is a v.9 i doubt you want to have to replace your laser seeing how it is hard enough to find replacements and not to mention they are expensive (laser) i'd also make sure you have the latest firmware for your dvd durner
