Lag on Burned Back-ups
I was trying to play back ups of Guitar Hero: World Tour, and Sonic Unleashed. I am using Swap Disc v3.8, I burned the ISO's to discs at 2x using Alcohol 120% and TDK DVD-R discs 1x - 16x. My PS2 is a slim 70000. I'm getting choppy cutscenes on both games and in Guitar Hero the music freezes up a lot and repeats the same few notes while visually the notes keep coming. I just got this PS2 used from Gamestop, and I'm worried that the laser is going bad... I read in a forum once that when the laser starts dying, the recorded DVDs stop first. Could it be that I might just have to do a TOC refresh, or would that not effect this situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As first step, try burning at 8x speed - some burners have problems with very slow speeds and produce more errors.
You can try also another DVD-R brand. Verbatim proved to be very good.
Alright. I'll see if I can get ahold of another brand, in the meantime I'll try burning another at x8
OK, i burned Final Fantasy XII onto a disc at 8x, and it works perfectly. I noticed that in the ISO file of XII, there's a small IMG file. Is this like a dummy file? There is no IMG file in the other two games, is that why they were having problems?
If I remember correctly, it is a IOPRPxxx.img-file.

Thought, you can compare it with a "Linux-RAM-Disc"/Initial-RAM-Drive.
