Initial D on Pal (Aus)
Initial D on Pal (Aus) –
Hi, im new here, have been searching around and couldnt find an answer. I have got the retail version of initial-d and tried playing on my PAL (Aus) v9 ps2 with a bluechip mod (similar to Magic source code i was told), the game works fine but during the game right after i pass the checkpoint, the sound that notifies you passing the checkpoint kept going in the background and doesnt stop unless i reset my PS2. I know its not that much of a problem but its pretty annoying, anyone else experiencing this??
Do i have to do make a backup copy and maybe change the region to region free? i know dvd decryter has the option to change dvd to region free.. but i dont know if its for ps2 as well. Anyone that could help me out here??
Thanks in advance!!
Sounds like it could be the DVD-R you're using. Try a different brand and see if it runs any different. Also, it might be because the game continually streams data to the PS2, similar to how the GTA games work, if that's the case then there isn't a whole lot you can do.
Yo dude where you buy BlueChip for v9 model ? and how it works ?
btw about your problem tray to use some good media like Ritek or Verbatim or Pionner .
I know this guy whos been modifying ps2 since.. um the grey nintendo, and i got my xbox done there which works like a charm. The guy told me the v9 chips were made in Malaysia or something, and its similar to the sourcecode of MagicX, and the source-code is similar to MagicX, i got it chip when the source-code just came out where it just began to flood the market with modchips. Theres not much problem with it yet, just this initial d problem that i dont know if its a region problem or something wrong with my chip.
I still have the original initial-d disc and i copied with a verbatim dvd-r with a pioneer a06 using RecordNow, but i just did a global image -> burn, so its the exact disc. Anyone know if the function for dvddecryter to make dvd region free works for this situation??
btw Im located in Aus.

I will be selling the Bluechip for the V9 as of this week.
Blue X-5 it is being called. Bought 100 of them in my first batch.
By all reports they are by far more stable than the MagicV.
The instructions to install are attached - they kind of suck so I will probably make my own when I get my first V9 in to MOD.
The SmartchipX5 is a rip of this chip as you can tell by the attached instructions.
