I need help burning metal gear solid 2 substance for ps2 –

Hello, as the title says I need help burning metal gear solid 2 substance for ps2. I have already wasted at least 10 dvd+r dl discs trying to get a successful working backup so you can just imagine how flusterated I am in trying to backup this game for the ps2(I am also using the mcboot+esr method/exploit). Here is the problem that I am having: First I make an image using dvd decryptror v 3.5.4.0. Then I patch the iso with toxic dual layer patcher v 1.0, after I patch it with toxic dual layer patcher I patch it with ESR disc patcher gui v 0.24a(which all are successful so far). Then I finally start to burn the game with img burn v 2.4.4.0, but first I make sure that the book type is set to dvd-rom so I go to the "change booktype" in the "drive" option and and select the appropriate type of burner( which is an LG super-multi burner, which supports all disc formats except blue-ray) that I own, I choose the dvd+r dl format in which the current setting is already set to the dvd-rom booktype. So thinking that it is already set to the dvd-rom booktype I begin the burn process and everything goes smoothly without any errors. So then after the disc is finished being burned to dvd+r dl media I put it into my ps2(using the mcboot+ esr method/exploit) and eventually the esr screen appears and recognizes the ps2 backup that I just burned as a valid ps2 backup(ie: esr says "ps2dvdv" at the bottom of the screen) that can be played (via esr) so I choose the "launch cdvd" button and eventually a bunch of different colors flash on the screen simultaneously eventually ending up at a black screen and it does not move beyond the black screen. I have also downloaded this game thinking something was wrong with the official copy that I actually own and it produced the same failed result(ie: wont move past the black screen). I have also used alcohol 120% and img burn to make the iso instead of dvd decryptor and at different write speeds of 1x, 2.4x, 4x, and 6x and it still produced the same failed result. So can anyone please help me on what I am doing wrong or offer any guides on how to successfully make a working backup of metal gear solid 2: substance for the ps2. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your time in this matter.

Please don't ask with help with PIRATED GAMES IE downloaded ones such questions only result in a swift bitch out session and then banning of that member. I'll give you the benefit of doubt on this one, since you said you tried it with your original as well.
. Have you checked to see if this game is even on the compatibility list?

sorry to but in but did you miss this bit? the guy has a problem and this was just a passing statment you took out of context? we all hate pirates and maybe this wasnt the best way to check his rips, but i think he deserves some help. never having done this myself i ask one question. If you patch with toxic dual layer patch do you need to burn it to a dual layer disk as he has done or do you burn it to a single layer disk?

here's the thing spud, we help one person get his downloaded game running, we have to help them all. and he openly admits downloading game. how am I supposed to verify that he even has an original copy? Can't. and one more thing. If he's smart enough to download it, he's smart enough to run it on his own.

fair enough . he should have asked before he did the d/l thing.... and its true we have to go on trust whenever anyone says they own the games they are trying to get working. as for smart enough? lol any tosser can d/l these days its all too easy.. doesn't mean they have the smarts to do anything with it. also as dj said is this game even compatible? i guess i am the type of person to take things at face value. if someone says they own a game i tend to believe them.
all this and the OP hasn't come back anyway.... probably says a lot.....
