What software can I use to install dual-layer games on my ps2?
you mean to install games on hdd right?
yes, games like gow2 only installs the 1st layer for me using usbextreme. wat is the solution? i also tried ripping the game to iso and then using usbinsane to save in usb format, with same result.
for Internal HDD use first IMGBURN to make an iso of your hdd then install it via WinHIIP 1.7.6
for External hdd use first IMGBURN to make an iso of your hdd then install it via USBUtil by ISEKO
and what about SMB?
For use with OPL v0.8 you should have two subfolders in your OPL fileshare folder, named "CD" and "DVD", which are to be used for storing ISO files ripped just as for any other install method. When running the games through SMB protocol all ISO files can be used as-is, since SMB can handle all DVD sizes.
The only tricky bit is that you must name the ISO files properly, so that each ISO filename starts with the game ID (same as its main elf filename normally), followed by a period character, followed by the game descriptor (at present max 32 char I think) as displayed in the OPL game list.
For example, my ISO for "FFX International" (Japanese with English support) is named:
"SLPS_250.88.+Sq FFX Int (JP).iso"
Here the first part "SLPS_250.88." is mandatory as it is the ID of the game,
and the final part ".iso" is mandatory for all ISO files,
while the middle part "+Sq FFX Int (JP)" is freely chosen by me for what to show in the OPL game list for this game.
The "+Sq " part may look cryptic, but that's just a trick I use to sort all 'Square' games to appear in a group early in the list. I also use the same trick for Nippon Ichi RPGs, but then using the prefix "+NI ".
Best regards: dlanor
