How do I put a CD image onto dvd-r?
How do I put a CD image onto dvd-r? –

I've asked people online this question and they think I'm just absolutely crazy, but, I know it can be done. I've heard lots of people do it. They put a .bin or a .iso of a game onto dvd-r, however, how do you do it?
I have a .bin of a dvdrip'd to cd-r and I want to put it on dvd-r.
I used bin2iso to make it to an .iso then I used primo to burn it. No luck! I've wasted 2 dvd-r's now trying this. I know it can be done, but, HOW??
Why do I want to do this? My ps2 absolutely doesn't read cd media. It could be the cd pot is bad, etc. Whatever it is, I want to be able to put cd games onto dvd-r. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

Anyone??? I can't see why this isn't easily possible, in fact, I thought it was something some people did on a regular basis. I mean, if you can put dvd games onto cd-r , why can't you put cd games onto dvd-r ??
PLEASE HELP!! I'd like to get some cd backups working!!!

i remember there being a thread about a dvd loader which enabled you to put multiple cdr games onto one dvdr and if gave u a menu and choice of which one to boot. I think the thread was in the dev forum.. so check there.. i guess u can use that to load just a single game.
hope it helps,

I'll try that, although that game selector never really did work for a lot of people correctly. Anyone else know of a definite way to get ps2 cd games (dvd rips, etc) on dvd-r? It's got to be easily done, I mean, like I said, if games can go from dvd to cd-r, I'm sure it's even easier the other way around.

I have also been trying to do this, for a friend of mine with basically the same problem as you.
Not had any luck yet, would be very interested to know if you manage to get it working + procedure for doing so.

No, because the honest and logical bottom line is - - it's just plain st00pid.
Let's review...
- You have a DVD burner.
- You have DVD blanks.
- You have a modified PS2 that will play DVD backups.
So, explain again why you want to waste a perfectly good DVD blank with a compliation of hacked up CD-R rips of full DVD games when you could just be burning and playing the whole intact original to begin with...?

if you only have a small amount of dvd blanks, and you want to put a couple 'good' dvd rips on to it
or a snesstaion + pgen type thing.....but i still agree with you balto. 90% of rips destroy the story of the game.

You can't because the dvd games have "dvd checks" that are removed when you "rip" them for cdr, the ps2 needs these to play off a dvd/dvdr if you could find a way to insert the correct dvd checks in the correct places it may be possible, but I know absolutely nothing about the subject myself...
