HELPwith .iso files nightmare

i have downloaded different files from internet, i have managed to burn .bin files no probs using nero.
but when it comes to iso files i have no luck ive tried alchol 120% record now, nero, etc even tried converting iso to bin using winiso
when i boot disks they look like they have worked i get the white playstation logo with sound but then screen either tsays white or just black ,

what am i doing wrong any help appreciated have looked at every forum entry about this subject ?????

when you burn an .iso image, just change the mode to mode 2 and it will work.
if you use nero - when you load the image just goto compilation info, from the file menu and change the iso to mode 2.
or you can use cdrwin just as easy to burn with.
i use nero and cdrwin to burn my backups, always works fine.
