help!! Problem with memory card screen coming Up all the time! –

I had problems burning certain games such as Hulk and enter the matrix..they would freeze as the game would load..so I was told to upgrade the firmware on my Pioneer A05 to 1.30 and Recordnow max to 4.50 but then it would not record anything playable from that point on ...everything would boot up to the menu showing the memory card screen...I was told that
win XP was a better os..so..
I just finished formatting my computer with WinXP NTFS.
I have a Pioneer A05 which I upgraded the firmware again from 1.00 to 1.30. I just installed Stomp Record Now Max 4.50.
And I am using Ritek G03 media.
However I am still having trouble with DVD based PS2 games.
Any time I put them in my v.7 PS2 which is modded with a messiah 2 chip..it instead of coming to the playstation logo goes right to the memory card screen....as though it sees no game in the tray.
I have tried with several games I just rented.....still it won't work.
Help..it worked before I upgraded the software..could it be the firmware? I'd appreciate any help anyone can give... Can I reverse the firmware update?

If its doing it with DVD based games you rented too (you mean the originals?), then its probably your laser. I had the same problem, and i used a q-tip with rubbing alcohol to clean the laser and it worked fine.
However, the same thing happened to my friend's, and the DVD POT on the laser had to be adjusted before it would read DVD format again. Supposedly when that has to be adjusted, the laser doesnt have much time before it has to be replaced...I guess we'll see if that holds true.
