get a modchip.
what is it and how do i get it and where do i get it?
holy...
how do you not know what a modchip is yet you're browsing this site? just look around and you should be able to figure it out.
I have read articles dating back to last year. All ive learned is they are something you install to make cd-r's bootable. I dont know exactly what they are, how to install them, if they are even legal, how much they are, or where to get them. I'm not even asking for a long drawn out response. Maybe simply a site or a store I can call that could help me out.
there arep lenty of pictures, threads liting shops, faqs and threads giving descriptions of the features of what the various chips do, etc etc etc etc.
considering you can easily find the information out on your own, and could have done so and gotten answers faster than anything you would have gotten between your original post in your thread, and this reply...
yes, any answers given would be long and needlessly drawn out.
I am looking at some sites, and what is the swap method?
and who can install them, b/c when i asked some other peeps in other threads they were pretty forceful in saying that i would screw my console in installing it
o and finally, out of these? what is the best (and cheepest) way to do it, including the swap method, w/e that is
http://www.mod-chip.com/ps2_select.htm
see how much better it feels to have researched something on your own? now that you've made some effort, i'll give some answers
the swap method works with v1-6 consoles, and doesnt let you boot a bunch of games that are too large. plus you either need to pay for a fliptop lid(overpriced), or shove a plastic knife or something into the front of the drive to force it open(can damage the drive). not exactly a great idea considering it doesnt even work all the time.
plenty of people can do the installs. once again, look around on the forum.
and since you never said what version ps2 you have, cant really tell you what chip to get.
