    Guitar Hero Metallica

The DVD5 is now out and ready thanks to user Drakia..

Heres the info in regards tord the kit as well as what Drakia (the maker of the ripkit) has done with the patching processes..

    Description:
Downsampled one song (Master of Puppets by Metallica) and replaced all of the "Movies" (As in everything in the MOVIES folder) with the RedOctane logo (So you will lose any bonus content)
The downsample is just the same as the GHWT downsamples, from 16538hz mono -> 13500hz mono, and from 33075hz stereo -> 27000hz stereo. It's probably not noticeable.
Also, the video files are IPS, not PSS.
All credit for the RipKit goes to Drakia!..

Replaces all videos with the Red Octane logo (This cut down a LOT of the size, you will lose any bonus videos though.)
Patches SLUS_218.43 to read FIF0.FIF from the right place.
Patches FIF0.FIF to contain all of the files/new offsets/sizes.

    Instructions
    ------------------------
    1) Extract both layers of the GH: Metallica DVD to the GHM-Kit folder.
    2) Run ghmrip.bat and wait ~2 minutes
    3) Select ghm.iml in iml2iso
    4) Burn the resulting ISO, patch with ESR first if required.

    Information
    ------------------------
    Result Filename: ghm.iso
    Result Filesize: 4,684,906,496 bytes
    Result Filehash: (MD5): 4FA791E38BDCC70BE19FB310E895F 02A
    (CRC32): 3DB6F1E8
    (SHA-1): 7E5B2CD6A22F7B11D83ED861AEFA7 DEB93314FD7

If you started from the patched ISO (Or a proper dump from your own legit ISO, cause that's what you should be doing) then the outcome hashes will be:
    CRC32: 219B4BFA
    MD5: ECAF2B048E102E4DDFBC5EB55FE48 470
    SHA-1: E933AC4EB845EB75C5B020FFE8EA4 E991509D34F

    Changed Files
    ------------------------
    MOVIES/*
    MUSIC/0/08F41E4A.IMF
    FIF0.FIF
    FIF1.FIF
    SLUS_218.43

    *DOWNLOAD CAN BE FOUND BELOW*

    /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

NOTE: Must read as this patch may be needed after making a DVD5 ISO
That patch was made from an invalid ISO so a patch was made by Drakia as well..
Here is what he had said about the patch..
Patch can also be found below as well..
Just run the patch after you have ripped the DVD9 to a DVD5 then run this patch as it will fix the corruption found with in some invalid ISO files that have been floating around the net..

    POSTED BY DRAKIA
"Ok, my kit was made with the "corrupt" ISO, which really only contains 9 1-byte differences in the song "Demon Cleaner". I tested this song in my RIP and it still works, so there's really no need to patch your ISO if you have the invalid one. However, your hashes won't match what I posted, so here is the hashes for the patched ISO (Or the proper release, if you don't have the corrupt one).

    CRC32: 219B4BFA
    MD5: ECAF2B048E102E4DDFBC5EB55FE48 470
    SHA-1: E933AC4EB845EB75C5B020FFE8EA4 E991509D34F

Note that the RIP should work on both the "proper" ISO and the "corrupt" ISO, you'll just result with a different hash, the filesize should be identical. I created a quick patcher for the RIP'd ISO to make it contain the fixes, just incase there really is a reason to have those 7's replaced with 6's. (I'll post a link once I burn and test the copy with the patch applied. There's no reason to release the patcher if it results in the disc not working on the given song.)

Well, I tested it, and both copies appear to work exactly the same on the only file modified. Here is a patcher (Source included) that will replace the 9 bytes with their "proper" bytes. I don't see any difference, but if you are really worried about it then feel free to run it in the same folder as ghm.iso
    "

Once again all thanks goes to Drakia for the great ripkit..
It has also been stated that the DVD5 may not play with Swap Magic~Xsploder~Zone Loader..
However I have Swap Magic that has been ESR patched and is working fine..

**Knowing Swap Magic disks to work so far is version 3.8**

Just a quick addon Scooter... the patch to fix the corrupted iso was made by me. Drakia just used my ppf patch to make his. Hey.. i had to download the whole thing twice to make that fix, c'mon!!!!

Anyway.. just to state that the ripkit WORKS fine and if you're having big loading times.. use a good media and burn at any reasonable speed.

Agreed and Ill take your word on the making of the patch.. With that said thanx for the patch..

Verbatim DVD-R burned at x8 (x4 suggest however many have had issues) would be wise..

    Hi.

Any chance on making a ripkit for PAL version (SLES_554.72)? I will help in any info you need, just tell me what to do and i'll do it. Oh, except the "jumping off a bridge" part, that i probably will not do

EDIT: PAL ISO size 7.95GB, Filelist created with Apache3.10.6 beta (attached)

Ok, I am confused. If I rip my game, do I need the kit and the patch or just the kit to make a DVD5 backup??

    Sorry for the late replie..
Im sure you have it figured out by now or just found a version on your own..

Ither way this is what I had stated up top:
"Just run the patch after you have ripped the DVD9 to a DVD5 then run this patch as it will fix the corruption found with in some invalid ISO files"

So this means run the ripkit to make the DVD5..
Then us the patch to patch the new DVD5 that you made to fix any or all corruptions that are found in some ISO's..
The patch is not always needed though..

Put it this way~if your DVD rip does not work then run the patch (throu ISO) and patch it..
After the patch it the DVD should work..

    HOWEVER:
If your DVD5 rip works then there is no need for the patch!..

Yea, I didn't have any issues so I didn't need to patch.
Thanks for the reply anyway Scooter.
